The demand for green solutions challenges us - also in the world of filtration - to think about company-wide adaptations and sustainable ways of using filters.

For Vlint, sustainability is not just a concept, it has now become a core value for our organization. Therefore, in recent years we have started to make our products and our organization more sustainable. Think of the Easy to Recycle bag filter, but also the installation of solar panels and the replacement of the fleet by electric cars.

If we choose sustainable solutions more often, we can make our planet clean. Or at least reduce our ecological footprint. That's why we'd like to tell you more about what sustainability means to us and how we implement it in our organization.

What sustainable products does Vlint supply?

Vlint supplies filter products, among other things. At present, these are processed in a non-environmentally friendly way when they are used. In fact, they go completely into the incinerator. This is a great shame, because it can be reused in a much more sustainable way.

Sustainability starts with us. At Vlint, we take our responsibility by actively working on making our own organization more sustainable. We strive to reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a greener future. We are proud to share our green initiatives and show how we put sustainability into practice.

Completely CO₂-Neutral with 850 Solar Panels

When we built our building in Lelystad in 2012, we immediately invested in a ground-source heat pump and triple glazing. In the past few years, we have taken further steps to reduce our CO₂ emissions to zero. With 850 solar panels on our roof and a switch to 100% green wind energy, our building is now fully CO₂-neutral. This means that our offices, warehouse, production process, and vehicle fleet all run on sustainable energy. Thanks to these measures, we save 114,000 kg of CO₂ annually, which is equivalent to the absorption capacity of 4,560 trees!

From Office to Client: Electric and CO₂-Neutral on the Road

Sustainability doesn’t stop at our building; we also make conscious choices on the road. That’s why we have fully switched our fleet to electric cars. This means that all our account managers now drive electric. Thanks to this transition, we have reduced the CO₂ emissions per car by no less than 60% compared to fossil fuel-powered cars. And because our electric vehicles are charged with 100% green energy, they are not only low-emission but also truly CO₂-neutral.
