Bridge formation due to blow-in speed

At a market leader in the production and supply of high-quality, certified ready-mixed concrete and mortars for the Dutch structural construction market, Vlint provided a suitable solution. The filter boxes on the silos could not handle the blowing in of the raw materials in time. This was because the existing cartridge filters, mounted in the silos, did not meet the desired filter surface area to ensure the blow-in speed of the raw material. The cartridges slammed too quickly, causing bridge formation. Due to this bridging, the bulk trucks were unable to empty the supplied substances, if at all. This caused extra frustration and extra waiting times, as well as additional costs.

Recalculation of filter area

Vlint carried out an on-site survey and addressed the situation with Vlint's engineering department. Through calculations/filter surface area calculations and based on the air volumes and products, this eventually resulted in a recommendation that solved the problems. As a result of the calculations, Vlint suggested the use of different patterns, with a different pleat configuration and with a significantly larger filter area.
